Can writers engage meaningfully with ecological and climatic change? With policy makers slow to act – or even back-peddling – on climate agreements, and sea levels set to rise for centuries to come, as both a poet and community arts facilitator I am bound to ask, ‘but what can poetry do?’ This session will discuss different approaches, using two community arts projects focused around sea level rise, erosion and coastal pollution as case studies.
